Bernstorffsminde

Børge Mogensen's production of everyday furniture is so large and broad that it has become important to all parts of the Danish population. In 2005, Bernstorffsminde A/S entered into an agreement with Børge Mogensen's widow Alice Mogensen to relaunch the Shaker table and the BM 1 chair as a complete dining group.

The BM Shaker Table is available in four wood variants; soap treated oak, oiled oak, smoked and oiled oak or black lacquered oak.

In addition, the table is also available in four different sizes; 140cm x 95cm, 200cm x 100cm, 250cm x 100cm and 300cm x 100cm.

Made to order in Denmark. Lead time 20-24 weeks.

Designer: Børge Mogensen

Børge Mogensen received his apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker in 1934 in Aalborg. In the years 1936-38 he attended the School of Arts and Crafts at the same time as Hans J. Wegner. From 1945-47, Børge Mogensen was employed as an assistant to Professor Kaare Klint at the furniture school.

Most people know Børge Mogensen as the furniture designer who, under the auspices of FDB, brought quality furniture at reasonable prices into Danish homes and went on to create some of the most recognized classics of the 1950s and 1960s. And there's plenty to choose from, because Børge Mogensen was as productive as they come. Ideas came to him at all hours of the day and night and were written down on matchboxes, napkins, half-crumpled envelopes or whatever was at hand.
